Siphons with a 110 mm (~105–110 mm) outlet diameter are a standard solution for most modern European kitchen sinks. The 110 mm siphon corresponds to the Euro standard 3 1/2" (the internal diameter of the sink drain is usually 90–94 mm).
A 110 mm sink siphon can be equipped with a bottle-type water trap with a rigid sediment chamber or a tubular type with an elbow. Both types efficiently drain wastewater and capture large food and grease particles, preventing rapid clogs in the plumbing. The Euro siphon for kitchen sinks comes with a removable basket filter or stainless steel strainer and sealing gaskets to ensure the drain valve is leak-proof.
The 110 mm drain siphon is sometimes equipped with an additional side outlet for connecting a dishwasher or washing machine, making it versatile in limited under-sink space. The Euro siphon can include an adjustable corrugated pipe up to 1 m long, allowing adaptation to different cabinet heights and pipe configurations. Main types of these siphons:
- Bottle-type or tubular models.
- With overflow (rectangular or round) or without overflow for sinks with or without overflow protection.
- Double (for double-bowl sinks) with a single common water trap or two combined sediment chambers.
- With an additional side connector — for connecting auxiliary appliances requiring water or condensate drainage.
- Semi-automatic with remote drain valve control.
Materials are mainly high-density polypropylene or ABS plastic with stainless steel components (brushed or polished surface; with PVD coating in various colors or without). These siphons and their components withstand temperatures up to +95 °C, are resistant to household chemicals, and ensure minimal noise during drainage due to smooth internal surfaces.
